week 4 results...

Congrats to Team Oso for regaining the lead. After burying my face in nachos and other ball park food, I did not do good eating this past week.

Team Oso:
starting weight: 341
weight loss: 13 lbs
current weight: 328
Total percentage: 3.81%

The Bird Nerd Herd:
starting weight: 392
weight loss: 12.3 lbs
current weight: 379.7
Total percentage: 3.14%

The Dead Sexies
starting weight: 387
weight loss: 7.2 lbs
current weight: 379.8
Total percentage: 1.86%

Due to The Dead Sexies and The Bird Nerd Herd not being home next Monday, let's skip a week of weigh-in. This doesn't mean that the workouts stop, but we need to keep weighing in on the same scales. We'll pick up on the next weigh-in in 2 weeks. Peace out.

week 3 results...

Well, I for one did not do great this week. I didn't lose, but I didn't gain so I'm OK with that...especially after all the "guy's night out" meals with C-boy and T-boy while the girls were gone. We have a new current leader this week.........congrats The Bird Nerd Herd!!!!!!!!!! You were the only team to lose this week. Way to go! Despite the "shitty" week (as D-crotch from Team Oso puts it) they still managed to have a higher percentage than the Dead Sexies...damn.

Here are the numbers...

The Bird Nerd Herd:
starting weight: 392
weight loss: 11.8 lbs
current weight: 380.2
Total percentage: 3.01%

Team Oso:
starting weight: 341
weight loss: 8.0 lbs
current weight: 333
Total percentage: 2.35%

The Dead Sexies:
starting weight: 387
weight loss: 8.0 lbs
current weight: 379
Total percentage: 2.08%

Good luck to everyone this week! Despite a tough week 3 (for most of us), we are all still lower than when we started! Let's keep it up.

Mailbox Motivation

I don't know what all of y'all are doing for exercise, and maybe you don't have the challenges I sometimes do, but I thought I would share what works for me. When I'm on the treadmill and I'm struggling to keep my pace or finish a lap, I give myself small challenges. When running on the sidewalk in the neighborhood, I used to just tell myself to make it to the next mailbox before slowing down. Now on the treadmill, I will tell myself to just go for 30 more seconds. Once I have reached that marker, I tell myself to go another 30 seconds at that pace, and so on until I meet my usual goal. This helps me a lot when I'm feeling like I can't make it another 3 minutes or whatever. I suppose it wouldn't work for an entire hour workout, but I usually find myself wanting to slow down or quit at the same points, and if I can make it through those points then finishing usually comes a little easier.

What is everyone doing on the exercise front? I spend an hour on the treadmill, jogging and walking a total of 4 miles, about 4 times a week. I would love to know what everyone else is doing.

Week #2 Results are in...

I can't believe we are already done with week 2 and into week 3. We all need to remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint. Just like the "Tortoise and the Hare"...no matter how many times you read it, the Tortoise always wins. After analyzing the results, Team Oso again has the highest total percentage of weight loss. Great job Team Oso!

Team Oso:
starting weight: 341
weight loss: 10.5 lbs
current weight: 330.50
Total percentage: 3.08%

The Dead Sexies:
starting weight: 387
weight loss: 9.2 lbs
current weight: 377.8
Total percentage: 2.38%

The Bird Nerd Herd:
starting weight: 392
weight loss: 6.6 lbs
current weight: 385.4
Total percentage: 1.68%

Let's all kick some tail this week!! Good luck.
